CENTRAL DISPATCH

In addition to statutory oversight of the county's 9-1-1 system, the Jersey County ETSB manages Jersey County's Consolidated Central Dispatch.  Central Dispatch, located within the Frank Yocom Law Enforcement Center at 114 North Washington in Jerseyville, serves as the county's only Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and is responsible for processing all 9-1-1 calls originating in Jersey County and dispatching public safety resources pursuant to a request for aid.  In addition, Telecommunicators answer administrative lines and handle routine radio communications for the county's public safety agencies.  These duties include, but are not limited to, license plate inquiries, driver's license status checks, warrant entry, and maintenance of times and unit statuses.

From the Center, Telecommunicators dispatch 11 public safety agencies including five fire protection districts, three ambulance services and three law enforcement agencies.  Additionally, Telecommunicators process requests for other County agencies such as Probation, State's Attorney, Coroner, Emergency Management and Animal Control.  The center is staffed 24 / 7 / 365 by Telecommunicators certified in Emergency Medical, Police and Fire Dispatch who are ready to answer your call for assistance and dispatch the appropriate resources to meet your needs.
