Jersey County 9-1-1 operates the public safety answering point (PSAP) and consolidated communications center responsible for answering 9-1-1 calls and dispatching police, fire and medical resources within Jersey County, Illinois.
All Telecommunicators are certified by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch as Emergency Medical, Police and Fire Dispatchers and are licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health to perform Medical Dispatch. Additionally, Telecommunicators complete APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator I, CPR, Law Enforcement Agency Data System (LEADS), TTY/TDD, Missing Children Dynamic and Response, HAZMAT, and National Incident Management System (NIMS) Certifications.
Jersey County 9-1-1 is a proud member of IL-TERT (Illinois Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce), an intergovernmental mutual aid program intended to send Telecommunicators to disaster situations in Illinois and throughout the country, as well as provide Telecommunicators to other Illinois 9-1-1 centers that encounter crisis situations. Jersey County 9-1-1 is also a recognized Call Center Partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Missing Kids Readiness Project.
